From Wealdstone With Love

Okay I have to admit, the lads were a bit disappointed that Oxford City had been knocked out. Marsh Lane (home of City) is a 5 minute drive but a 'home' draw at Bognor would be another 2 hour drive!

But nonetheless the lads went wholeheartedly into the draw for the 4th Round Qualifying to see who our beloved Bognor Regis Town FC would face.

Following the FA Cup draw on Twitter isn't fun but it's what you have to do if you are at work. But starring at the screen for 40 minutes waiting was made worthwhile when Bognor drew an away tie to Wealdstone FC...

Three years ago only a die-hard football fan would probably know Wealdstone FC but thanks to one man the non-league club are now definitely on the footballing map. That man is The Wealdstone Raider!

Matchday arrived and the boys were excited what the town of Wealdstone had to offer. After a short trip down the M40 we were a little surprised to find that The Stones don't actually play in Wealdstone but down the road in Ruislip!

What was more surprising however was that The Wealdstone Raider had now been given cult status at Wealdstone and led out the team to upbeat music - very odd but very inspiring!

Ben and Dave found a spot on the touch line next to some die-hard Bognor Regis fans dressed head-to-toe in green and white. The fans discussed every single player on the pitch, citing all their past clubs and there best attributes. Non-league fans are the best!

The Stones vs. The Rocks

The game took a while to build pace but when it did it was fascinating. Both teams properly going for it and forgetting all about their defensive duties.

Bognor had bought a bunch of very noisy fans up from the south coast and the atmosphere inside the Freebets.co.uk Stadium was brilliant - just how an FA Cup match should be - friendly, loud and passionate.

Those Bognor fans exploded with excitment when the ref awarded them a penalty just before half-time. But a fantastic save by the Wealdstone keeper denied them a half-time lead.

The 2nd half saw Wealdstone make their superior quality show as they raced into a comfortable 2-0 lead. But again the FA Cup didn't disappoint and Bognor were awarded another penalty, a way back into the game? But no! Incredibly the keeper pulled out another top-drawer save to keep a two goal advantage.

The last 10 minutes were frantic as Bognor finally got on the score sheet but the famous comeback wasn't to be. It would be Wealdstone who would progress to the First Round proper!

Come on you Stones!
